Cinnamon Nut Diamonds
Sift together into a bowl and reserve
2 cups sifted all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Beat with mixer or wooden spoon until light and fluffy
1 cup soft butter or margarine
1 cup formly packed light brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg yolk
Add flour mixture and 1/2 cup ground walnuts. Mix well. Spread in greased jelly-roll pan (15 x 10 x 1). Brush with 1 egg, slightly beaten. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup ground nuts, pushing them into dough. Bake in preheated oven 350° for 25 to 30 minutes. Cut in 2 inch diamonds. Remove to wire rack to cool. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen. Stoor airtight. Can be frozen. They keep and ship well.
