Ranch Style Corn Bread
from Wilma Renfro Wilson 1960
Makes 1 9" x 9" pan
1 cup corn meal
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup milk
1 cup sifted flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 egg
1/4 cup melted shortening
Combine dry ingredients in a bowl. Add egg, milk and shortening. Stir lightly. Pour into well greased 9" square pan. Bake at 425 for 20-25 minutes.
